Pre Overt
My wife and I have been married for 5 years. We have a very difficult time communicating when things get charged or we have differing opinions. I love her and we want to have a family. However, I know that having a family can produce its own set of challenges, ones that require effective communication strategies to maneuver. While we have been improving, we just need a little bit of extra help on how to address things and get our needs met without being so mean to each other.
My wife and I both work full time. We firmly believe that therapy will help us. We have 2 car payments and are currently renting (which seems to be raising every few months). We cannot afford to pay the full amount for a therapy session, especially if we are going every week or even every other week.
During Overt
The first few weeks have been great. My mood has been good, I have found that I have been a lot more happy recently which is awesome.
I am really glad I got to go to therapy, I think it helps me process what I think throughout the day. I am glad that I got to say everything that is on my mind, sometimes I wish it was a little longer
I felt that I have been able to get a lot off my chest and talk openly with the counselor the whole time. She helped me to better see things. I feel I was able to connect with my therapist and she understood my concerns and where I was coming from, I felt that a lot was able to get done in the session.
This program has been really helpful so far and I’ve really been able to get some stuff off my chest – talking about things is really helpful rather than keeping them bottled up inside.
Post Overt
Throughout the program I have been able to learn more about my mental health and realize the symptoms more so I can recognize them in my daily life.
I always struggled to talk about the problems I was facing and I was able to learn how to actually express myself and talk to others to get the help I needed. This has not been easy for me and I have struggled with my mental health but once you accept you need help and get that help you can start to feel better.
I feel that my anxiety and depression symptoms have greatly improved since going through the program.
