M.L’s Story

Posted on August 31, 2023August 31, 2023 by Ben Roberts

Pre Overt

I have experienced some traumatic events in my life and I would like to figure out how to handle such events and reactions due to the events in a healthy way. I believe the next step to this process is a therapist guided approach, however, my insurance does not cover the solution that I have found and would like some extra help so that I can get the help I need.

I am a college student paying for a lot of things on my own, and to have some financial subsidy would greatly improve my capabilities to attend therapy.

During Overt

During the first few weeks things have gone well. I need to come into therapy with more of a plan of what to say but I am realizing I have some things I need to face and learn to talk about even though I am sometimes scared to do so

My sessions have been good and helpful for me. My brain feels open and I am able to express myself more. I’ve been able to talk to my therapist about things I hoped to and I think therapy has helped me in so many different aspects of my life.

My therapist has also helped me learn some new skills that I can apply in my life even after I finish the program. It’s been helpful to learn how to help myself on my own. I think it is still important to talk to others and therapy is so helpful but I am glad I am learning things that I can apply in my every day life.

Post Overt

After participating in Overt I now know how to address certain struggles i may be having. Everyone is at their own place in life and has different struggles. I would say I learned to take time to work on my self and the Overt Foundation has allowed me to do that over the past few months
